Apple might just have a surprise up its sleeve for October. We’ve been patiently waiting for new goodies from Cupertino, and it seems the time is drawing near. Renowned tech insider Mark Gurman has hinted at the possibility of a new 24-inch iMac dropping as early as October 30th.
This would finally break a lengthy dry spell of over 900 days since the M1 iMac’s debut in early 2021. Although he didn’t spill the beans on the exact chip, Gurman has previously suggested that the refreshed iMac could sport the impressive M3 chip.
NEW: Apple’s iMacs and MacBook Pros are in extremely short supply online and at retail stores. And new models may be coming soon: the company is likely planning a Mac related launch event at the end of this month. https://t.co/3xwhck5JBs

In his recent Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, Gurman dropped the tantalizing tidbit that Apple might be planning a Mac-focused product launch by the end of the month. If you’ve been eyeing the iMac, 13-inch MacBook Pro, or the higher-end Pro models, you might notice that several of their configurations are not expected to ship until November.
Gurman sees this, coupled with Apple’s plan to release its earnings in November, as a “clear sign” that something exciting is brewing in Cupertino. If history is any indicator, the last time Apple held off discussing their earnings until after October, they graced us with a Mac and iPad announcement.

While the 14- and 16-inch Pro laptops got a revamp in January, the 13-inch MacBook Pro hasn’t seen any updates in over a year. Likewise, the iMac is slowly inching toward its third year with the same chip. So, the anticipation is building.
As for the next-gen MacBooks, Gurman doesn’t foresee major external changes but anticipates upgrades in the internal departments, especially when it comes to processors. There might be some “minor improvements to displays” to look forward to as well. But the real deal, according to Gurman’s crystal ball, could be a brand-new iMac Pro in 2025, followed by OLED MacBook Pros in 2026, complete with revamped designs and exciting new features.
So, Apple fans, keep your eyes peeled, because the tech giant might just be cooking up something special for us this October, and the future promises even more exciting developments in the world of MacBooks and iMacs.
