Samsung, known for its fantastic smartphones, is also famous for its range of earbuds. We had a hunch that Samsung wouldn’t be unveiling any new Galaxy Buds during its July Unpacked event, where they showcased the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. But, a sneaky leak revealed a model number hinting at a possible Galaxy Buds update. Now, we’re getting our first official peek at these new Samsung earbuds, thanks to a leak from a Dutch publication called GalaxyClub.
They stumbled upon a support document for the Galaxy Buds FE, reportedly published accidentally by Samsung Germany. Soon after, the folks at Winfuture went deeper into the rabbit hole and found a user manual/support page PDF for the Galaxy Buds FE, complete with official images of the earbuds and their charging case. Interestingly, GalaxyClub had speculated earlier that Samsung might name these earbuds Galaxy Buds FE, Buds 2+, or Buds 2 Live, and it turns out they were spot on.
These leaked images also seem to confirm the presence of wingtips, which had been hinted at in a live image leak the week prior. This design tweak could potentially solve the issue of some older Galaxy Buds not fitting snugly. Apart from this design upgrade, there isn’t much else we know about the Galaxy Buds FE at the moment.
Did you know that WhatsApp is upping its game by introducing a feature called “Channels,” which is similar to what Telegram provides? This thrilling feature is currently expanding to more than 150 countries. Initially, it was only accessible in Colombia and Singapore, and predominantly for a limited number of organizations:
Meanwhile, the support page leak gives us a detailed look at the earbuds and their charging case, complete with labels explaining what each part does. We’re still in the dark about the available color options, but we can confirm that the Galaxy Buds FE will be available in at least Black and White, as seen in the leaked images.
The “FE” in the name suggests that Samsung might launch these new earbuds alongside the Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 FE. It’s also safe to assume that the Galaxy Buds FE will be more budget-friendly compared to earbuds like the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, which are considered some of the best wireless earbuds around.
While we don’t have an official launch date for these new Fan Edition products, earlier rumors and leaks hinted at a late 2023 or early 2024 release. However, more recent reports from various sources suggest a late September release, which means we could be just a few weeks away from the arrival of the Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE, and Galaxy Buds FE. Keep in mind that Samsung usually reserves big events for its flagship devices, so this launch might be a bit more low-key. Exciting times are ahead for Samsung fans!
